Stunning and charming little cafe by day, wine/cocktail bar by night. (Friday and Saturday for the bar). By far one of the best places in lewes, if not East Sussex. • The decor is brimming with authentic French antiques for the family owned antiques business next to it. • The food is amazing, headed by Pete the chef who has clearly knows his stuff • The wine is sensational. Try the Magneric if you don't mind spending a little extra, just leave some for me! • Relaxed and happy atmosphere. It's hard to be annoyed at anything when surrounded by such beauty. There's also a huge courtyard which is so good from spring to autumn, when a rather large fire pit comes out to warm up the pstrons. 10/10 will go again!

We occasionally stop in for coffee, tea, and cake. Always great tasting cakes, and good service. Our toddler particularly enjoyed seeing Henry - her favourite vacuum cleaner - in the toilet room.

Cute café with an outdoor courtyard next to an Antiques shop. Went there for coffee and cake but the lunch menu items looked yummy. The lemon meringue cake was delicious as was the orange and ginger cake. There are large parasols in the courtyard to provide shelter. The outdoor seats had cushions on them so they were comfortable to sit on. Service was pleasant.

We had a delicious brunch time snack at the cafe du jardin. The entrance way is unassuming but don't let that fool you, this rustic restaurant serves delicious bites and thirst quenching drinks in a relaxed and informal French cafe style both outdoor and indoor tables and believe me this place gets busy. Our server, Albie was an absolute gem, he worked hard to ensure no one was waiting, very attentive and capable. As you can see from my photos the food is excellent. However I wished I had ordered one of the tasting plates as they look fantastic.

Nice food and friendly service. We arrived on a sunny, warm day. With drinks, it came to just over £20 per person. Very reasonable.

A charming outdoor cafe serving great food. Friendly, attentive service. Lovely atmosphere. The food was good, my only slight criticism is that the salad was slightly too heavy on the dressing, but otherwise it was great. Harvey’s beer of course - what else in Lewes.

We only visit Lewes a couple of times a year, and if the sun's out, we love to come here. Set in a pretty courtyard with two buildings full of antiques to explore. The coffee and food is always good (this time we had tea and scones... yum !!). What we're always impressed by, is the lovely friendly and helpful staff. We don't come often enough to recognise anyone but without question, they have always been lovely.
